Language
Classical Chinese

1.27

The clauses of the two hundred and fifty precepts are fully recorded in the great canon under the Four-Part Vinaya of the Hīnayāna; they will not be elaborated here. The "practices of the four true paths" means knowing suffering, abandoning the origin of suffering, realizing the cessation of suffering, and cultivating the path; these are the true practices of the path of the four noble truths. If one firmly maintains purity and advances one's resolve without backsliding, one will gradually achieve the noble fruit.
