The Buddha said: "I regard the positions of kings and marquises as dust in a sunbeam; I regard treasures of gold and jade as rubble and tiles; I regard garments of fine silk as worn-out rags; I regard the great chiliocosm as a single myrobalan seed; I regard the waters of the four Anavatapta lakes as oil for smearing the feet; I regard expedient means as a raft made of a heap of jewels; I regard the unsurpassed vehicle as brocade and gold in a dream; I regard seeking the Buddha-way as flowers before the eyes; I regard seeking dhyāna as the pillar of Mount Sumeru; I regard seeking nirvāṇa as being awake by day and night; I regard the inverted and the upright as six dragons dancing; I regard the equal and impartial as the ground of single true reality; I regard the flourishing of transformative teaching as the trees of the four seasons."
