The second major section reveals the principle, which is the principle of tathatā revealed by the two kinds of emptiness. Because the preceding graspings are exhausted, this principle appears, just as when clouds disperse the moon appears, and when dust is gone the mirror is clear. It is not that the absence of clouds is itself called the moon, but merely that in the place where clouds are absent, the moon is seen; it is not that the absence of illusion is itself tathatā, but merely that in the place where illusion is absent, the true principle is seen. In the text there are two parts: first, the dharma.
