Contemplating that from the beginningless past I have been lost in the sea of mind, / For vast kalpas drifting and sinking in the waves of birth and death; / Sands of the Ganges of buddhas have appeared among humans, / Yet rare as a blind turtle meeting a floating log was encountering them. / How fortunate that in this life I have met the definitive teaching, / A thousand layers of doubts and obstacles dissolving like ice! / Reflecting on the accumulation of hearing and perfuming over multiple lives, / I feel deep gratitude toward good spiritual friends across many births. / Superior beings in compassion took pity on the end-time, / Inquiring step by step from beginning to end. / The Benevolent One responded to their resonance according with the source of the mind, / Explaining root and branch without obstruction, suddenly and fully. / Having gathered the various traps to knock at true quiescence, / According with the holy intention I have explained this text. / I dedicate all merit universally toward sentient beings, / That together we may enter the treasury of the great light of supernormal powers.
