正明障道。言相續者，本從無明而生憎愛，憎愛還熏無明。種子、現行相續不斷，將此求道，畢竟不成。故《寶積經》云：「於身生寶愛，不離於我人，彼作是修行，由斯墮惡趣。」

This directly clarifies the obstruction of the Path. Saying 'in continuous succession' means that originally love and hatred arise from avidyā, and love and hatred in turn perfume avidyā. Seeds and active manifestations continue without interruption; seeking the Path with this will ultimately never be accomplished. Therefore the Ratnakūṭa Sūtra says: 'Cherishing and loving the body, they do not leave behind the self and person; if they practice in this way, they fall into the evil destinies because of it.'
