This is the supreme mind; that [sūtra] speaks of 'entering nirvāṇa without remainder,' each following its own tenets. However, the bodhisattva's generation of mind has no demarcations, being equal to the realm of sentient beings; without choosing between enemy and friend, they universally cause them to cultivate and together return to perfect enlightenment. Just as sentient beings in space are without limit, the bodhisattva's compassionate vows are likewise limitless. By generating this vow, it naturally perfumes and becomes seeds; borne by the power of this vow, one transforms [beings] effortlessly without needing to give rise to deliberate thought. All Buddhas of the three periods of time are identical in this; if not so, they would be no different from the two vehicles.
