The thirty-sixth: "What is the lion mind? It is practicing the teaching of being entirely free from cowardice." Just as a lion among beasts is victorious wherever it goes and knows no fear; this mind is also like this: in all affairs it wishes to triumph over all people, and its mind is not faint-hearted. It thinks within itself that there are no difficulties and that none can vie with it in superiority. When one realizes this in oneself, one should generate the mind of the Lion of the Śākyas, resolving that all sentient beings shall be universally victorious without distinction of superior and inferior; this serves as its antidote.
