阿難言：「我所說中，非此二種。如世尊言：『眼色為緣，生於眼識。』眼有分別，色塵無知，識生其中，則為心在。」

Ānanda said: "What I spoke of as 'the middle' is neither of these two kinds. As the World-Honoured One said: 'Eye and form serve as conditions, giving rise to eye-consciousness.' The eye has discrimination, the dust of form lacks sentience; consciousness arises between them, and that is where the mind resides."
