身處二種，非我立意。眼色為緣生眼識者，豈非尊言？今約根境兩楹之間以立中位，心在此也。根能照境，故云分別。

"The two kinds, body and location, were not my intended thesis. That eye and form serve as conditions to give rise to eye-consciousness—is this not the Honoured One's teaching? Now, by referring to the space between the two pillars of faculty and object, I establish the intermediate position; the mind is here. The faculty can illuminate the object; hence it is said to have discrimination."
