阿難雖復得聞是言，與諸大眾口已默然，心未開悟，猶冀如來慈音宣示，合掌清心，佇佛悲誨。

Although Ānanda had heard these words, his mouth, together with the great assembly, was already silent; yet his mind was not enlightened. Still hoping for the Tathāgata's compassionate voice to proclaim and instruct, he joined his palms with a pure mind, awaiting the Buddha's merciful teachings.
