10.229

The physical body with its sense faculties is unreal and inherently impermanent; it truly cannot be craved as lasting. Now, craving it firmly and falsely clinging to longevity, it is termed 'the attachment to craving what is not to be craved.' 'Asita' means peerless, referring to the long-lived ṛṣis. As for 'the fruit of prolonged weariness,' weariness (勞) stands for solidity (牢), an error of character. Falsely clinging to prolonging years, it is called 'falsely prolonged.'
