佛言：「大王！汝未曾滅，云何知滅？」「世尊！我此無常變壞之身雖未曾滅，我觀現前念念遷謝、新新不住，如火成灰漸漸銷殞，殞亡不息，決知此身當從滅盡。」

The Buddha said: "Great King! You have not yet been extinguished; how do you know of extinction?" "World-Honoured One! Although this impermanent, changing and disintegrating body of mine has not yet been extinguished, I observe that in the present, thought after thought shifts and wanes, afresh and afresh without abiding, gradually dissolving and perishing like fire becoming ashes, perishing and passing away without rest; I certainly know that this body will eventually undergo complete extinction."
