前念滅、後念生，剎那變異，如火燒薪必歸磨滅。《俱舍》云「以諸有為法，有剎那盡故。」
The preceding thought ceases and the succeeding thought arises, changing in an instant; like fire burning firewood, it must eventually return to destruction. The Kośa says: "Because all conditioned dharmas have instantaneous ending."
