「如是阿難！若梅生者，梅合自談，何待人說？若從口入，自合口聞，何須待耳？若獨耳聞，此水何不耳中而出？」

"Thus, Ānanda, if it arose from the plums, the plums ought to talk about themselves; why wait for someone to speak? If it entered from the mouth, the mouth itself ought to hear it; why need to wait for the ears? If the ears alone hear it, why does this water not come out from the ears?"
