「阿難！若復此香生於汝鼻，稱鼻所生當從鼻出，鼻非栴檀，云何鼻中有旃檀氣？稱汝聞香，當於鼻入，鼻中出香，說聞非義。」

"Ānanda! If this incense were born from your nose, then what is said to be born from the nose should emerge from the nose. The nose is not candana; how could there be the aroma of candana inside the nose? As for your smelling the fragrance, it should enter into the nose; for the nose to emit fragrance, to call it 'smelling' is not logical."
