3.120

「若生於木，則此香質因爇成煙，若鼻得聞，合蒙煙氣，其煙騰空未及遙遠，四十里內云何已聞？」

"If it is born from the wood, then this fragrant substance turns into smoke due to burning. If the nose comes to smell it, it ought to receive the smoky vapor. When that smoke rises into space, it has not yet reached far; how is it that within forty li it is already smelled?"
