「阿難！若從月來，尚能遠方令珠出水，所經林木皆應吐流，流則何待方諸所出？不流，明水非從月降。」
"Ānanda! If it comes from the moon, then since it can cause the pearl in a distant place to produce water, the groves and trees it passes over should all pour forth streams. If they pour forth streams, why wait for what comes from the moon-mirror? If they do not pour forth streams, it is clear that the water does not descend from the moon."
