破衣生也。前五句披衣離體破，風性不靜，若生衣中，應見飛動，今何不然？我今下六句舉例無風破，佛今垂衣不見飛搖，獨汝袈裟云何風出？衣中未必有潛風處令衣不動。

This refutes arising from the robe. The first five lines refute by the robe separating from the body. The nature of wind is not still; if it were produced in the robe, one should see it flying and shaking; why is it not so now? The six lines beginning with 'Now, as I' refute by citing an example of the absence of wind: the Buddha's robes now hang down and are not seen flying and shaking; why should wind come forth only from your kāṣāya? There is not necessarily a place where wind hides inside the robe to keep the robe from moving.
