「阿難！汝性沈淪，不悟汝之見聞覺知本如來藏。汝當觀此見聞覺知，為生為滅？為同為異？為非生滅？為非同異？」

"Ānanda, your nature is sunk in delusion, and you do not realize that your seeing, hearing, sensing, and knowing are fundamentally the tathāgatagarbha. You should contemplate this seeing, hearing, sensing, and knowing: do they arise or do they cease? Are they identical or are they different? Are they neither arising nor ceasing? Are they neither identical nor different?"
