3.59

二手喻真妄，合喻真妄和合。真有不守自性，隨緣成根境等，如隨冷熱緣成冷熱手。問：二手之中何手喻真？答：以勢劣者喻真，思之。餘如文。

The two hands symbolize the real and the false; their contact symbolizes the union of the real and the false. The real does not maintain its own nature, but in following conditions becomes faculties, objects, and so forth, just as in following cold or hot conditions, cold or hot hands are formed. Question: 'Between the two hands, which hand symbolizes the real?' Answer: 'Take the one of inferior strength to symbolize the real; reflect on this.' The rest is as in the text.
