如來藏心量遍十方，德含一切，雖信而解，非行莫臻，故此敘之，以彰得失。
The measure of the tathāgatagarbha mind pervades the ten directions and its virtues contain everything; though one believes and understands it, without practice one cannot attain it. Hence he recounts this to manifest gains and losses.
