Bodhi is translated as awareness, which is the fruition of wisdom. Nirvāṇa is translated as quiescent cessation, which is the fruition of abandonment. Free from falsity and without change, it is called tathatā. Illuminating, examining, and unchanging, it is called buddha-nature. Amala is translated as immaculate; revealed through freedom from obstructions, it is the pure, immaculate consciousness. Not corresponding with false defilements and containing immeasurable merit, it is named the empty tathāgatagarbha. Able to manifest bodies and lands, free from inversion, consummated, and discerning all existences, it is called the great perfect mirror wisdom. Although the seven names differ, the single essence is not distinct, being solid, congealed, permanently abiding, and immovable like a vajra.
