隨塵生滅，逐念流動，無始至今未甞停息，不能於妙常寂，絕念而遊於真覺明，亡緣而照，雜染流轉，生之又生，區區若是，何由取證？

Arising and ceasing following dust, flowing and drifting following thought, from beginningless time until now it has never ceased. Being unable to terminate thought in wondrous, constant stillness and wander in the true awareness of illumination, or to extinguish conditions and illuminate, they transmigrate in defilement, born again and again. While toiling in such a petty way, by what means could they attain realization?
