從佛口生，從法化生，得佛法分，名生我法。向下雖有二十五門，諸聖入道總而攝之不離十八，故舉以問，令各敘述。

Being born from the Buddha's mouth, born transformed from the Dharma, and obtaining a share of the Buddha-Dharma is called 'born into my Dharma'. Although below there are twenty-five doors, the holy ones' entry into the Way, comprehensively subsumed, does not depart from the eighteen [realms]; hence he raises them to ask, causing each to narrate.
