5.248

根復故內脫，塵銷故外遺。內外既亡，孰為三有而可處耶！故云遠離。想相為塵，識情為垢，二俱遠離，得無生忍，故云法眼清淨。

Because the faculties returned [to their source], he internally shed [body and mind]; because dusts melted away, he externally abandoned [the world]. With interior and exterior both gone, what three realms of existence remained to dwell in? Hence he says 'departed far from'. Conceptual marks are dusts; conscious emotional thought is defilement. Leaving both far behind, he obtained the forbearance of non-arising dharmas; hence he says, 'the Dharma-eye became pure.'
