Viśvabhū means 'Pervasive Mastery in All'. Leveling the road and ground while awaiting the Buddha's passing, the Buddha instructed him with his own realized Dharma-door, telling him to level the ground of the mind, and everything would be level. The mind is that upon which the myriad dharmas depend; it equably holds, nurtures, and nourishes everything, hence it is called 'ground'. If one can practice the contemplation of the nature of equality and accord with this, then all dharmas will be none other than equal, masterly and unobstructed; therefore that Buddha is named 'Mastery in All'.
