5.420

彌勒菩薩即從座起，頂禮佛足而白佛言：「我憶往昔經微塵劫，有佛出世名日月燈明。我從彼佛而得出家，心重世名，好遊族姓。爾時世尊教我修習唯心識定，入三摩地。」

Bodhisattva Maitreya immediately rose from his seat, bowed his head at the Buddha's feet, and addressed the Buddha, saying: "I recall that in the past, after kalpas as many as fine dusts, there was a buddha who appeared in the world named Candrasūryapradīpa (Sun-Moon-Lamp Light). I went forth from home under that buddha, but my mind was heavily attached to worldly fame, and I loved to wander among clan families. At that time the World-Honoured One taught me to cultivate the samādhi of mind-only consciousness, entering into samādhi."
