初一句總標嘆，次二句嘆三十二應，次二句嘆十四無畏兼四不思議，次二句嘆德號。妙音是體，觀世音是用，亦是真俗二諦，亦是自利利他。梵是淨義，釋成體也。海潮要不失時，釋成用也。救世下二句結嘆利益，初得世間安樂，終獲究竟涅槃。

The first line generally indicates and praises him. The next two lines praise the thirty-two responses. The next two lines praise the fourteen fearlessnesses together with the four inconceivables. The next two lines praise the virtuous epithets: 'Wondrous Sound' is the essence, 'Avalokiteśvara' is the function; they are also the two truths of the ultimate and conventional, as well as benefiting oneself and benefiting others. 'Brahmā' means pure, explaining the essence. The ocean tide does not miss its proper time, explaining the function. The two lines beginning with 'Saving the world' conclude by praising the benefits: first one attains worldly peace and joy, and ultimately one attains final nirvāṇa.
