「常聞如來說如是言：『自未得度，先度人者，菩薩發心。自覺已圓，能覺他者，如來應世。』我雖未度，願度末劫一切眾生。」

"I have constantly heard the Tathāgata utter these words: 'Not having crossed over oneself, yet first crossing others over, is the initial resolve of a bodhisattva. One's own awakening being already complete, being able to awaken others, is the Tathāgata's responding to the world.' Although I have not yet crossed over, I vow to cross over all sentient beings in the final kalpa."
