寶蓮香事未檢所出，意謂殺盜有對，邪行無對，故云無報。善星事出《涅槃》，琉璃緣如本經。為有定處下問意有六，文見於三。六者，謂有定處、無定處，自然、因緣，私受、同受。下文結云「不斷三業，各各有私。因各各私，眾私同分，非無定處。」

The story of Jewel Fragrance has not yet been verified in its source; the meaning is that killing and stealing have counterparts, whereas illicit conduct has no counterpart, hence she said there is no retribution. The story of Sunakkhatta comes from the Nirvāṇa [Sūtra]; the circumstances of Virūḍhaka are as in this sūtra. In 'Do they have a fixed place...' and so forth, the questioning intent has six aspects, though three appear in the text. The six are: having a fixed place, having no fixed place; spontaneous, [arising from] causes and conditions; privately undergone, collectively undergone. The text below concludes: 'Not severing the three karmas, each has their private [karma]. Because of what is individually private, the multitude of private [retributions] share a common portion, so they are not without a fixed place.'
