此引事驗也。憶即是念，明記為性。念有憎愛，故分憐恨。由愛起憎，不離情染。內有情染，外現其事，故皆流水也。

This adduces matters for verification. 'Recalling' is mindfulness, having clear recollection as its nature. Mindfulness has hate and love, hence it divides into pity and resentment. Arising from love, hate is not separate from emotional defilement. Having emotional defilement within, its matter is manifested without; therefore all flow water.
