8.584

行勝於前，故云一切時靜。應觸者，應謂相應，觸即欲境。尚猶順而從之，故云未能違戾。命終漸勝，故生此天。上昇精微等者，即約一生補處菩薩所居器說，以同名兜率故，此云知足。

Their practice is superior to the former, hence called 'still at all times.' 'Responsive contact': 'responsive' means matching, 'contact' means the sense-sphere of desire. Still following and complying with it, it is said they 'are not yet able to refuse it.' As life ends, it is gradually superior; hence they are born in this heaven. 'Ascend to the refined and subtle' and so forth is spoken regarding the receptacle realm where bodhisattvas of one more birth dwell, because it shares the name Tuṣita, which translates here as 'Contentment.'
