9.142

「汝勗修行，欲得菩提，要除三惑；不盡三惑，縱得神通，皆是世間有為功用。習氣不滅，落於魔道，雖欲除妄，倍加虛偽，如來說為可哀憐者，汝妄自造，非菩提咎。作是說者名為正說，若他說者即魔王說。」

"You should exert yourself in cultivation. If you wish to attain bodhi, you must eliminate the three delusions. If you do not exhaust the three delusions, then even if you attain supernormal powers, they are all conditioned functions of the worldly realm. If the habit-energies are not extinguished, you will fall into the demonic path; though wishing to eliminate falsity, you will double your deception. The Tathāgata calls such people pitiable. Your falsity is created by yourself, not the fault of bodhi. One who speaks thus makes a correct statement; if anyone speaks otherwise, it is the speech of the demon king."
