'You must eliminate the three delusions' is the direct exhortation. Earlier it was said: 'Because the three conditions are severed, the three causes do not arise; the frenzied nature spontaneously desists, and desisting is itself bodhi,' and so forth. From 'If you do not exhaust' onward, the fault of not severing them is explained: cultivating dhyāna without upholding the precepts is the work of Māra; cultivating falsity with falsity is truly pitiable. From 'Your falsity' onward, it reiterates and concludes the answer to show what is correct and what is deviant. The previous question asked: 'Does this path fundamentally exist of itself, or does it arise from the false habits of sentient beings?' Now the concluding answer states: 'Your falsity is created by yourself, not the fault of bodhi.' That is, the earlier sentence answers the latter question, and the latter sentence answers the earlier question.
