「然彼諸魔雖有大怒，彼塵勞內，汝妙覺中，如風吹光、如刀斷水，了不相觸。汝如沸湯，彼如堅氷，煖氣漸隣，不日銷殞。徒恃神力，但為其客成就破亂。由汝心中五陰主人，主人若迷，客得其便。」

'Yet although those māras possess great wrath, they are within defiling toil, while you are within wondrous enlightenment; like wind blowing upon light, or like a knife severing water, they do not contact you at all. You are like boiling water, and they are like solid ice; as the warmth gradually approaches, in no time it will melt away. In vain do they rely upon their supernatural power: they are merely guests that bring about disruption. It is through the master of the five aggregates within your mind: if the master is deluded, the guests gain their advantage.'
