首楞嚴定實相智慧，如光、如水、如湯、如主，風、刀、氷、客孰能動焉？此以清淨道力破彼昏濁魔心，如空無礙，物何能沮？或一念動，如主心迷，客得其便，即成破亂，終不成就。

The real-mark wisdom of the Śūraṅgama samādhi is like light, like water, like boiling broth, and like the master—what can wind, knife, ice, or guests do to move it? This uses pure power of the Way to shatter their turbid and benighted māra-minds; like empty space free from obstruction, how could objects hinder it? If a single thought stirs, it is like the master's mind becoming deluded: the guests gain their advantage, immediately bringing about disruption, and in the end [the practice] is not accomplished.
