「又彼定中諸善男子見色陰銷，受陰明白，新證未獲、故心已亡，歷覽二際，自生艱險，於心忽然生無盡憂，如坐鐵床，如飲毒藥，心不欲活，常求於人令害其命，早取解脫。」

"Further, when these good sons in samādhi see the aggregate of form dissolve and the aggregate of sensation become clear, a new realization has not yet been attained, while the former mind has already perished. Looking across the two limits, they naturally feel hardship and danger. In their minds, endless sorrow suddenly arises, as if sitting on an iron bed or drinking poison. They have no wish to live, and constantly seek out others to end their lives so as to obtain liberation early."
