二際者，未證、已亡之二也。定無方便安忍其心，遂成憂惱，不耐活命也。
The "two limits" refer to the two: not yet realized and already perished. In samādhi there are no skillful means to patiently settle the mind, so it turns into sorrow and affliction, unable to bear living.
