問：破色陰時已是成就觀行，何故不說上歷聖位耶？答：色陰雖破，未能破心，故未成就上歷聖位，以最麁故。受陰既是四心初首，故破受陰，得說上歷六十聖位。

Question: When breaking through the aggregate of form, one has already accomplished the practice of contemplation; why is it not said that one ascends through the holy stages? Answer: Although the aggregate of form is broken, one has not yet broken through the mind; hence one has not accomplished ascending through the holy stages, because [form] is the coarsest. Since the aggregate of feeling is the first of the four mental [aggregates], when the aggregate of feeling is broken, it can be said that one ascends through the sixty holy stages.
