Through the power of illusion-like [nature], one perfumes and cultivates the wisdoms of hearing, contemplation, and cultivation, achieving the vajra-samādhi, which can destroy beginningless subtle ignorance and perfectly realize the substance of the tathāgatagarbha. Arising in function based on the substance, responding in accordance with conditions, one's body enters Buddha-lands. The *Avataṃsaka Sūtra* says: 'The pure, wondrous Dharma-body serenely responds to all.' Now, mentioning thirty-two is because the categories of those capable of eliciting a response do not exceed this number, not that the manifested responses have a fixed limit.
