At that time, from the fleshy protuberance [of the uṣṇīṣa] the World-Honoured One gushed forth a light of a hundred jewels. From within the light gushed forth a thousand-petalled precious lotus, upon which sat a transformation Tathāgata. From his crown he emitted ten streams of light of a hundred jewels, and within each and every ray of light there were everywhere displayed Vajra-Malla secret traces as numerous as ten Ganges sands, holding up mountains and grasping pestles, filling the realm of space. The great assembly looked up in reverence, embraced by both awe and affection, seeking the Buddha's compassionate protection, single-mindedly listening to the Tathāgata of radiant light from the invisible crown mark expound the divine mantra.
