"This precisely counteracts present karma. No longer following the dusts, one returns again to the original nature. Within the original nature, there are originally no faculties or dusts; how could there be a counterpart? Faculties and objects do not arise, the six functions do not become active, and there is solely the one, perfectly complete, permanent, wondrously enlightened, bright substance. This is identical to Avalokiteśvara's perfect penetration: once arising and ceasing are extinguished, quiescent extinction becomes manifest. Therefore, the preceding verse states: 'When cessation and recovery are accomplished in one place, the six functions all fail to arise; the defilements of the dusts dissolve at that very thought, turning into perfect, bright, pure, and wondrous [nature].'"
