初中，《四分》文不具足，義設云：「大德一心念！某甲比丘，如法僧事，與欲清淨。」一說便止。準《僧祇》，三說成就；今約《四分》文中，但一說成者，皆無結略之文。三說成法，方云第二第三亦如是說。準白二羯磨，說淨等法，依文直成。不須云云，取他外部。

Regarding the first part, the Dharmaguptaka text is incomplete, so the formula is provisionally formulated: 'May the Venerable One pay focused attention! Bhikṣu so-and-so grants chanda and purity for the legal affairs of the saṃgha.' Saying it once suffices. Based on the Mahāsāṃghika Vinaya, three recitations bring accomplishment; now according to the text of the Dharmaguptaka Vinaya, wherever accomplishment is reached by a single recitation, there is no text summarizing it into abbreviations. Only for procedures accomplished by three recitations does it say 'A second and third time it is also spoken thus.' Based on the jñaptidvitīyā-karman, declaring purity and other procedures are directly accomplished according to the text. There is no need to make lengthy arguments and borrow from other external schools.
