《四分》有二十七種：受他欲已自言：我是十三難人、三舉、二滅、十八種人。由自陳故，非是僧用。若不自言，相中同順，如足數中。《五分》云：自說罪人，不名持欲；反上即成。《十誦》：取欲清淨人，始取時，若取竟，自言白衣、沙彌、非比丘，乃至十三難，皆名清淨欲不成，不到僧所。

The Dharmaguptaka Vinaya has twenty-seven kinds: Having received another's chanda, one states of oneself, "I am a person of the thirteen obstructions, of the three suspensions, of the two expulsions, or of the eighteen kinds of persons." Because of one's own declaration, one is not fit for use by the saṃgha. If one does not declare it oneself, but externally conforms in appearance, it is as in the section on completing the quorum. The Pañcavargika-vinaya states: "One who declares an offense of his own is not termed a conveyor of chanda; the reverse of the above is valid." The Daśādhyāya-vinaya states: "Regarding a person who takes chanda and purity, if when first taking it or after finishing taking it, he declares of himself that he is a layperson, a śrāmaṇera, not a bhikṣu, up to the thirteen obstructions, in all such cases the chanda and purity are not valid, and it has not reached the saṃgha's place."
