若論說戒，隨同師善友，下道並坐；令使相近，依法結之。若論自恣，五人已上，圓坐四面，五德在中，四面自恣。此人加用，未必如此，亦隨緣改張。

Concerning the upoṣadha recitation: following one's fellow teacher and good friends, one sits together along the pathway, keeping close to one another, and demarcates it according to the Dharma. Concerning pravāraṇā: five or more persons sit in a circle on four sides, with the five virtues in the center, and perform pravāraṇā facing all four sides. The additional practices applied by contemporaries are not necessarily like this, and may also be adapted according to conditions.
