五以事法相對。法唯楷式，乖旨則事不成；事通情性，故隨境制其得失。或託三性之緣，或隨世譏而起。

Fifth, pairing affairs with dharmas. Dharmas are strictly standards; if they run contrary to the purport, affairs are not accomplished. Affairs pertain to human inclinations and nature; therefore, according to the object, their successes and failures are regulated. Some rely on conditions of the three natures, while some arise following worldly ridicule.
