輒教尼戒二十一。四緣：一不為僧差，二集於尼眾，三說法教誡，四言了使犯。律中僧不差說法八敬，俱墮；日非，吉羅。《僧祇》：前三（在經說戒日十五日後三日）後二（去布薩日二日），此日去者，名為日非。但德須具十，人行又布；今但為略法，如刪補羯磨。

Precept twenty-one: instructing bhikṣuṇīs without authorization. There are four conditions: first, not being designated by the saṃgha; second, assembling the community of bhikṣuṇīs; third, expounding the Dharma and delivering admonitions; fourth, the offense being incurred upon completing the speech. In the Vinaya, expounding the Dharma or the eight gurudharmas without saṃgha designation are both pāyattikas; on an improper day, it is a duṣkṛta. The Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya states: 'The three days before (the three days following the fifteenth day on which the sūtra and precepts are recited) and the two days after (the two days before the upoṣadha day)—to go on these days is called an improper day.' Furthermore, ten virtues must be possessed, and personal conduct must also be distributed; now, only an abridged method is given, as in the Pruned and Supplemented Karman.
