二對治行明止持。作持必行心成就，前三則無；善性便有，惡、無記無。止作二犯，行心成就（前就持中無貪等三為行，今就犯中貪瞋等三為行），前三亦無（即識、想、受三心）；局不善性。若前後心，有別持犯，所以可知也。

Second, clarifying observance by abstention through antidotal practice: observance by action must be fulfilled in the mind of volition, but not in the preceding three; it exists in the nature of goodness, but not in evil or indeterminacy. Both transgressions, of abstention and of action, are fulfilled in the mind of volition (earlier, regarding observance, non-greed and the other two constitute practice; now, regarding transgression, greed, hatred, and the other constitute practice); they also do not exist in the preceding three (namely the three minds of consciousness, ideation, and feeling); they are restricted to the nature of unwholesomeness. If preceding and succeeding minds have distinct observances and transgressions, the reasons can be understood.
