六約就所求，四種：一賊分齊，如諂媚邪命勝他名利等。二罪分齊者，恐墮三途故。《成論》云：行者深心不樂為惡，名淨持戒。三福分齊，欲生天受樂等。四道分齊者，縛著等累，由戒得解故。

Sixth, in terms of what is sought, there are four kinds: first, the scope of a thief, such as flattery, wrong livelihood, and seeking fame and profit surpassing others; second, the scope of offenses, out of fear of falling into the three destinies—the *Satyasiddhiśāstra* says, 'When a practitioner deeply takes no pleasure in doing evil, it is called pure observance of precepts'; third, the scope of merit, wishing to be born in heaven and enjoy bliss, and so forth; fourth, the scope of the path, because bondages and other encumbrances are liberated through the precepts.
