上所列諸通緣，又〈隨戒〉中取別緣，兩明二犯，得知因果輕重，犯不犯相，方得入懺法。不須通漫，悔罪不出。

The general conditions listed above, combined with taking the specific conditions from within the [rules] following each precept, clearly illuminate the two aspects of transgression, so that one can understand the gravity of cause and effect and the characteristics of transgression and non-transgression; only then can one enter into the repentance procedures. One must not be vague and confused, or the offense cannot be removed through repentance.
